Applications open for United Way’s leadership development program

INDIANAPOLIS – Applications are now open for the fall session of Leadership United, a United Way of Central Indiana program that trains community leaders to serve on nonprofit boards.

Applications are due May 11 and can be completed online at uwci.org/leadership-united. The fall program will meet about every other week from August to October. The cost is $1,600.

As part of the program, participants will be matched with one of United Way’s accredited community organizations and serve as a fellow on that nonprofit’s board for six months.

The program will train participants in fundraising, marketing, finance, legal issues, ethics, and diversity, equity and inclusion related to serving on a nonprofit board.

United Way of Central Indiana has offered the program for more than 30 years and runs two sessions annually.
