United Way of Central Indiana to host pitch event for human services organizations

INDIANAPOLIS – Applications are now open for nonprofits interested in winning funding by showcasing their new ideas at a pitch contest June 14.

At Propel, human services organizations will pitch their ideas on how to reduce barriers for those from under-resourced communities or asset-limited backgrounds. The event is open to nonprofits serving residents in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan or Putnam counties.

To apply, nonprofits are asked to submit a short video highlighting their organization and idea by 5 p.m. April 29. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of community leaders.

Finalists will make their pitches live from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 14 at The AMP at 16 Tech, 1220 Waterway Blvd., Indianapolis.

At the event, a $30,000 grand prize winner will be chosen, along with a $5,000 audience-choice winner. All finalists will receive $2,500.
