The Capacity Fund helps nonprofits with organizational advancements to better serve the community

In June, more than $110,000 was awarded to five organizations to evaluate programming, coach board leaders, provide training and develop volunteer recruitment strategies

The gift will help nonprofits across the region with construction, renovation and technology needs 

The grant – made possible by the financial support of Lilly Endowment, Inc. – provides recipients with up to $10,000 to engage in activities that bring them professional and personal renewal.

Since relaunching in 2020, United Way of Central Indiana’s Technology Fund has awarded over $2.2 million to more than 80 organizations to fund 105 projects across the region. Supported by funding from Lilly Endowment Inc., it’s one of three United Way funds – Technology, Facilities Maintenance and Capital Projects – designed to help organizations with infrastructure needs.

Technology and Facilities Maintenance are two of six sector support initiatives United Way provides – with backing from Lilly Endowment Inc. – to help accredited nonprofits respond to emergencies, support staff, improve infrastructure and technology, and make both planned and unexpected repairs.
