Restock the Classroom Spreads School Supplies and Smiles to Thousands of Teachers

More than 3,000 teachers were surprised by deliveries of totes full of school supplies during United Way of Central Indiana's Restock the Classroom event. Teachers throughout Central Indiana received bags filled with the most needed school supplies, including tissues, pens, markers, tape, glue, Ziploc bags and stickers. We're incredibly thankful for the 145 volunteers who made special moments happen for 3,124 teachers in our community! See some of the teachers' reactions by watching the video below.

Thanks to the many volunteers, businesses and organizations who made Restock the Classroom possible! Without support from the Central Indiana community, these teachers would be faced to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on stocking much needed supplies in their classrooms, just like Wynsda Watson, a 4th grade teacher at Indiana Math & Science Academy North. “I spend my own money on classroom supplies because it is not always in the school budget to buy things needed. I have always taught in low-income area schools, so school supplies aren’t always in the parents’ budget either,” she says. Read her full story here.
