Basic Needs
July 2025
United Way of Central Indiana partners with a network of accredited, community-based organizations to close gaps in access to essential resources. Through services such as healthy food distribution, physical and mental health care, housing support, and transportation assistance, our partners help residents build a stable foundation for long-term success.
Meeting basic needs is essential for individuals and families to live with dignity and stability. When people have consistent access to necessities like food, health care, housing, and transportation, they are better equipped to work, learn, and contribute to their communities. Yet, many Hoosiers in Central Indiana still face persistent barriers to meeting these fundamental needs.
The Basic Needs Dashboard brings together community needs and impact data from this network, offering a clear picture of how these efforts are making a difference across our region. Each data point reflects not only the work being done but also the evolving needs of our community and a shared commitment to building a more equitable and thriving Central Indiana.
