founding board members at the April Kick-off
event. Founding members Brian Williams, David
Davis and Peggy LaPlante had been with the Morgan
County YAR board since its beginning in 1999.

Kids Can Do!
Board members Adam Guthrie, Ted Land and Nicole
Watson were awarded the Kids Can Do award for
the most aluminum cans collected (541#) in Morgan
County. Monies from the cans will be used to
build a Habitat for Humanity house in the future.
Contest begins again in August, 2005!

YAR Board Members applaud the Spring 2005 grant
recipients.
April Showers Bring Baby Showers
This project was sponsored by First Christian
Church in Maritnsville and was awarded $627.53
for their project. The youth will make "baby
shower baskets" for pregnant moms at the
Wellspring Shelter in Martinsville.
Project X
Project X, sponsored by the First Baptist Church
in Martinsville, was awarded $792.31 for a portable
skateboard ramp. This project is also supported
by local area churches. The ramp will be transporated
to church lots for you to use.
Rainage Drainage
Project Rainage Drainage sponsored
by Mt. Gilead Church in Moorseville was awarded
a certificate of appreciation for their project's
completion. This Eagle Scout project assisted
the Mooresville Senior Center by helping fix
and repair some drainage problems on the stoage
shed located on the center's property.
Kids Uniting
Project Kids Uniting, sponsored by Mooresville
Friends Church, was awarded $440 to host a neighborhood
party this summer. Area youth and their parents
will be invited to attend the festivities, including
games, food, fellowship and FUN!

Growing Greens for Wellspring
This Girl Scout project, sponsered by Girl Scouts
of Hoosier Capital Council, will plant a vegetable
garden for residents at the Wellspring Shelter.
