YouthActionNet is about connecting youth to create
change. This international site includes discussions
about global issues of importance to youth, job
and volunteer opportunities, tools to create change,
a virtual graffiti wall, youth profiles, descriptions
of change organizations and a calendar of events.
The website was developed by the International
Youth Foundation in consultation with a task force
of eight young leaders from Australia, Germany,
Kosovo, Mexico, Palestine, the Philippines, Uganda
and the United States. Sponsored by the Nokia
Corporation, Youth ActionNet is part of the global
Make a Connection program.

Amigos de las Américas is an international,
voluntary, nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization
that, through service: provides leadership development
opportunities for young people; promotes community
health in Latin America; and facilitates cross-cultural
understanding for the people of the Americas.
For over 35 years, Amigos de las Américas
has provided a unique opportunity for high school
and college students in the U.S. to make a difference
in the world. Over 18,000 young volunteers have
completed extensive leadership and language training
programs that prepare them to spend a summer as
volunteers in ongoing community health projects
throughout Latin America.

more than 20 years has specialized in international
youth leadership and cross-cultural training programs.
Their interactive website is designed by teenagers

people through service-learning. It is one of
America's most prominent advocates of service-learning

Pay It Forward
is a book and a movie, but it's also an idea.
It begins with doing a favor for another person-without
any expectation of being paid back. The recipient
of that favor does the same for someone else -
ideally for three other people. It's an action
plan that's more than fiction. To date, the PIF
Foundation has provided grant funds and/or materials
to more than 300 schools in the U.S., Australia,
Canada and other countries. All Pay It Forward
Foundation grants encourage youth to believe in
their individual and collective abilities to shape

TeenSpeak is a teen-to-teen international quarterly
publication that is geared to older high school
and college-aged youth. Teens are encouraged to
share their thoughts and visions for the future
that serve to educate their peers on a number

Founded in 1990 by two teenagers, this has become
on of the most successful youth-run environmental
organizations in the world. Information is available
on speakers' bureau, workshop tours, books and
videos, and summer environmental leadership camps

YPII is a network of over 30 organizations with
the common goal of engaging youth in giving and
serving. The website provides descriptions and
a map of youth philanthropy programs in Indiana,
a calendar of events and many resources for youth
and adults interested in growing lifelong philanthropists.

The YSA site is an invaluable source of volunteering
information. A section on fund raising, a career
center, a message board and a network called "Community
Connections" dominates this site for youth
and adults.
