30th Annual Diversity Volunteer AwardsWhat are the Diversity Volunteer Awards? The Diversity Volunteer Awards were an outcome of United Way of Central Indiana’s committee on diversity’s desire to recognize outstanding diverse volunteers within our local community. As a result, United Way partnered with the Indiana Black Expo, Inc. in the summer of 1983 to give the first six awards and host the first breakfast celebration. In 2012, 9 diverse volunteers were recognized for giving their time and talents to help people in need and serving their community. Their contributions to nonprofit organizations are essential and invaluable. Who is eligible?Volunteers who are racially and ethnically diverse who have volunteered on behalf of, or in association with, a nonprofit agency or community organization.
