Volunteer Management

Are you new to volunteer administration/coordination? Or are you looking for a refresher? This course is for those who are new to the field of volunteer services or for those who are experienced but would like to get back to basics. Join us as we explore topics such as components of an internal volunteer program, recruitment and marketing, volunteer roles, skills-based volunteerism, and evaluation of a volunteer program. This is a two-part workshop.

When: Tuesday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 8, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. each day

Best Practices in Board Development for Nonprofits

What are the best practices for recruiting and sustaining a strong nonprofit governing board? How do you balance the responsibilities of the board and the staff? How do you keep the board from being bored? We’ll provide tools and techniques that will help your nonprofit board to be productive, active and full of vitality.

Grantwriting for Beginners

Start at the beginning with this two part training! Bring your grant proposal ideas and your questions! Please bring lots of resource information about your organization and business cards! Learn how to:

  • learn the benefits of SAVI for research 
  • write a case statement
  • develop a budget
  • tailor your proposal to a funder
  • include a realistic project management and evaluation component.

When: Tuesday, October 5, and Wednesday, October 6, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. each day (must attend BOTH days)

Outcomes Made Easy!

Social service agencies are being called upon to demonstrate how they are changing the lives of the people they serve. In this hands-on workshop learn the difference between outputs and outcomes and learn simple ways to put together a logic model. Bring program materials because this is a WORKshop!

Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference

The conference theme is The Amazing Race” Prepare, Measure, Succeed. The Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Building Conference will present solutions, tools and resources for nonprofit and community-based organizations to boost revenue, remain relevant, adapt to the demanding economic and societal climate changes and stay financially afloat. The United Way Nonprofit Training Center is a conference partner.

Nonprofits and Investment Fraud

If your nonprofit has an endowment or trust fund, you want it to be safe. The Indiana Secretary of State’s office wants to make sure that you know the best ways to protect your nonprofit from investment fraud. Join us for this FREE workshop. This workshop is a collaboration with our friends at the IUPUI Nonprofit Solutions Initiative.

Social Media and the Law

Is your nonprofit using Facebook? Do you tweet? Perhaps you have a blog attached to your website. Do your employees personally use social media?
