Women United

Women United is a dedicated group of women who strengthen our community by giving, advocating and volunteering. Women United is at the heart of United Way. Together, we are helping people learn more, earn more and lead safe and healthy lives. Members enjoy luncheons, special events and educational, volunteer and social networking opportunities throughout the year.

THE POWER OF WOMEN

Women United members are part of a nationwide effort of women who, through their collective support for United Way, are changing conditions and improving lives in communities across the United States.

Women United members have a tremendous capacity for positive change:

  • The IRS reports that 43% of the country’s top wealth holders are women.
  • It’s estimated that there are 10.1 million businesses in the U.S that are privately held and 50% or more women-owned.
  • In 2008-09, nearly 60% of all advanced degrees awarded were received by women.
  • Women have the resources and power to make a difference!

There is no greater power than a room filled with energetic women who wish to improve their community. Women United brings together women from varied backgrounds and diverse thought, but all with one common goal - to enrich and empower the lives of those less fortunate. With efforts to strengthen early childhood education, Women United is making a difference, one life at a time.
