Welcome to YARCI Hamilton CountyYouth as Resources of Central Indiana Grant InformationThe Carmel Green Teen Micro-Grant Program will be accepting grant applications for youth-led environmental projects in Carmel and Clay Township through September 20, 2010. All projects must be youth-driven, take place in Carmel, Indiana and either reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, or save energy. Details, project ideas, and applications are available at CarmelGreenTeen.org or via email info@carmelgreenteen.org. In 2010, Hamilton County Youth as Resources (YAR) distributed $6,047.21 to eight youth groups to carryout community service projects. Youth and adults worked together and volunteered their time and talents to assist more than 500 people in Hamilton County. Hamilton County YAR holds one grant cycle each spring. Youth groups may apply for up to $1,400 per grant. Any youth group interested in applying should attend a grant workshop along with their adult leader. First time applicants must attend a workshop to be considered for funding. Tips on what the Board of Directors looks for in a grant proposal, information on project ideas, community needs, researching budgets, determining outcomes, evaluating progress and celebration ideas are shared at each workshop. Applications are distributed at the workshops. Workshops begin on Thursday, January 27, 2011. Be sure to start planning now, as the deadline for grant applications is Friday, March 4, 2011. At this time, $10,000 will be available for distribution to youth-led community service projects. Check out dates and locations for Hamilton County's Cycle #27 on the grant workshops page. If you would like more information or would like to receive ongoing notification of grant workshop schedules and grand deadlines, please contact Amy Hammerle, Boone/Hamilton County YAR Coordinator, at 765.482.9014 or 317.223.3476.
