Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) is a program of United Way of Central Indiana. Our next training class (2010-2011) will be recruiting students in fall 2010. High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors (2010-2011 school year) are eligible to apply.

United Way welcomes students who:

• Are interested in community issues.
• Are interested in volunteer service.
• Want to develop their leadership potential.
• Want to serve alongside adults on nonprofit boards and committees.

Each year, YLI selects and trains 25 high school students from Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion and Morgan counties. YLI is one of several youth-focused civic participation programs offered by United Way of Central Indiana and it’s in its 15th year of operation. Visit the Information page to learn more.
