Helping make the season brighterEach year, United Way of Central Indiana’s United Christmas Service (UCS) helps those in need during the holiday season. In 2009, more than 28,500 people received food, clothing and toys thanks to your generosity. Without the Indianapolis community's involvement through monetary donations and adopting families, this program wouldn't be the success it is today. Caseworkers from partner organizations refer qualified families to UCS, and our Community Clearinghouse verification system helps prevent duplication of services and allows us to help the maximum number of people. Since this important program is unique and separate from United Way campaign fundraising activities, your support is vital to continued success. Thank you to everyone who contributed money or "adopted" families this season! We would like to give a special thank you to the following donor groups who "adopted" four or more families for the 2009 Christmas season: Allisonville Christian Church Guy Squibb Memorial Fund PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Angie's List Hancock County Sheriff's Department Progressive Baptist Church Bradley United Methodist Church Harmon Steel Inc.
