Bridges to SuccessBridges to Success began in 1991 as a community school coordination initiative created by a partnership between United Way of Central Indiana and Indianapolis Public Schools. The program is designed to be a vehicle for increasing student success and strengthening families and community support for our schools. Bridges to Success is part of United Way's education priority. What is a community school? Within full-service community schools, community coordinators are employed to help remove the roadblocks that keep students from taking full advantage of their education. The coordinators work to assure that parents, as well as community and business partners, are invited, informed and involved in the school-wide goals and activities.
