The Julian Center Shelter
2011 N. Meridian Street
Indianapolis, IN 46202

LINC is connects young professionals, age 22-30, with our community in fun and impactful ways.

Join LINC as we bring a little summer fun to the children of The Julian Center Shelter. Help us fill backpacks with cool summer essentials! Stick around and play Field Day games with the kids and celebrate the end of another school year.

We'll provide the backpack. We're asking you to bring just two (2) of the following items:

  • Count Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Colored Construction Paper
  • Pocket Folders
  • Washable Glue-sticks
  • Small Kleenex Packs
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Stickers

In addition to stuffing a summer backpack with your supplies, you'll also:

  • Decorate a backpack tag and write an encouraging note to a child
  • Pick out grade-level books from a collection of donations to include in your bag
  • Learn about services provided by The Julian Center and how your gift to United Way of Central Indiana supports great agency work

Snacks, beer and wine provided, courtesy of our friends at Monarch Beverage.

The Julian Center provides emergency shelter, counseling and other services for battered women and their children. Children participating in the Julian Center Summer Program are ages 6-16 years old and are at-risk or have been abused or neglected. Let's show them we care.

United Way needs volunteers for its ReadUP tutoring program. Can you spare one hour a week to help 3rd graders catch up to their classmates?
