Her Story is Our Story

Fierce, courageous, unapologetic, and brave. The definition of a valiant often includes powerful adjectives like these and others – but at its core, a valiant could be summarized into one word: Female. From the influential voices and progressives that lead our country across the political landscape, to the humanitarians on the ground fighting for human rights, education, and resources for girls and women everywhere – women simply don’t tolerate the status quo. Women’s History Month is a series of endless moments to think about the ways in which women have added tremendous value to our world, and the places in which they represent. Our blog and social media will feature the heroines of our world, our country, and our community all month long – and we want you to be a part of it. Marie. Frieda. Oprah. Malala. Diana. Greta. Rosa. Amelia. Susan. Sandra. Teresa. Louisa. Sojourner. You know their names because we are their stories. Keep an eye out for coverage of International Women’s Day, exclusive interviews with women executives of Central Indiana, and spotlights of United Way employees who have dedicated a large portion of their lives to fighting for the education, health, financial stability, and basic needs of every person in every community - because a valiant legacy never dies.
